Students will become familiar with the history of psychology and physiology research for tracing deceit and lies.
Duration – 8 hours
Familiarity with the polygraph apparatus and its components and function. The procedure for operating the apparatus, the manner of activating and operating it, the calibration method, and the method of recording the results chart.

The examiner’s skill in phrasing questions is very important for the success of a polygraph examination. In class, students will learn about phrasing questions and will be drilled in the manner of phrasing an investigation and semantic emphases.
A trained examiner will know how to adapt the technique that he would use during an examination to the situation, respondent and case. This lesson is fundamental to understanding the use of the various polygraph techniques. Inter alia, the method of control questions, “peak tension,” and the R-I technique etc. will be studied.
